SUMMARY:
A wellâestablished organisation operating in a fastâpaced commercial environment is seeking a detailâoriented Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers excellent exposure across financial reporting, audits, and operational finance, making it ideal for a handsâon finance professional looking to grow their career.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
Dayâtoâday administration and maintenance of investment, project and financial systems
Execution of monthâend settlements and support during close cycles
Preparation of weekly cash flow inputs for capital and operational expenditure
Maintenance of fixed asset registers
Review and verification of income and expenses prior to monthâend
Inventory management and reporting
Preparation of accurate and complete journals for the General Ledger
Monthly balance sheet and VAT reconciliations
Assistance with financial analysis and monthly reporting commentary
Support with statutory returns (Income Tax and VAT)
Assistance with financial statements preparation
Preparation of audit schedules for internal and external audits
General support to the finance team and adâhoc duties as required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Well organised with a structured approach to tasks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with senior management and operational teams
Positive, adaptable attitude with willingness to work extended hours during peak periods
Strong team player with a collaborative mindset

Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar accounting role
Strong working knowledge of accounting principles
Exposure to Income Tax and VAT legislation
Computer literate (MS Excel, Word and Outlook essential)
ERP system experience advantageous (SAP preferred)

Qualification:
BCom Accounting preferred
National Diploma in Accounting or related finance qualification advantageous
