A well-established property organisation is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day AP function and support the Treasury team. Reporting to the Treasury Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring accurate processing of supplier transactions, maintaining strong financial controls, supervising AP processes, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing accounts payable transactions, supporting team members, resolving supplier queries, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the full accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Review and approve supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements.
• Supervise and support the AP team, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are maintained.
• Review municipal invoices, utility expenses, and related reconciliations.
• Analyse monthly utility variances and provide reporting to Operations.
• Liaise with municipalities and third-party service providers regarding billing queries and discrepancies.
• Review cashbook reconciliations and ensure transactions reconcile to the General Ledger.
• Monitor invoice processing and ensure accurate capturing on MDA/Broll Online.
• Review supplier statements and ensure outstanding queries are resolved timeously.
• Review payment schedules, cash flow requirements, and online banking payment batches.
• Ensure accurate preparation of journals, accruals, provisions, and month-end AP reconciliations.
• Oversee local, private portfolio, UK, and international payment processing.
• Review purchase orders, expense batches, bank upload files, and credit card reconciliations.
• Assist with audit preparation and ensure supporting documentation is maintained.
• Monitor petty cash processes and ensure adherence to financial controls.
• Provide guidance and assistance to the finance team during periods of leave or increased workload.
• Identify process improvements and support automation initiatives within the AP function.
