About the role
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Accounting Clerk to join our growing team. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for candidates who are eager to build a successful career in accounting, taxation, and financial services while gaining valuable practical experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
• Review and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare and process payroll while ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Support audit processes by preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation.
• Respond to vendor enquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Perform general administrative duties, including filing, data capturing, and maintaining financial databases.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
• Perform bookkeeping functions up to trial balance.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of individual and company income tax returns.
• Support the Accounting Manager with tax computations and provisional tax calculations.
• Assist with SARS queries, audits, and compliance matters.
• Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for client files.
• Liaise professionally with clients regarding accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and taxation matters.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and South African tax legislation 

• South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
• Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
• Matric.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Basic knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar accounting packages.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• Good data capturing and record-keeping skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional attitude with integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
