We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant & Payroll Administrator to manage our financial records, statutory compliance, and end-to-end payroll processing. This role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and strong knowledge of accounting principles and South African payroll legislation.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications and skills required:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• 3–5 years’ experience in accounting and payroll.
• Proficient in SageOne and SimplePay is advantageous.
• Strong numerical, organisational and analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and SARS submissions.
• Experience preparing management accounts and statutory returns.

• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and supporting schedules.
• Process invoices, payments, receipts and journal entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, creditors and debtors.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Liaise with auditors, tax practitioners and regulatory authorities.
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns
• Assist with daily, weekly and monthly bank payment processes.

• Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
• Maintain employee payroll records including earnings, deductions, benefits and leave.
• Ensure compliance with SARS regulations, UIF, SDL and other statutory requirements.
• Prepare and submit EMP201 and EMP501 reconciliations.
• Handle payroll queries with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll-related journals.
• Support HR with onboarding, terminations and employee benefits administration.
