Job Description: Wealth Management Associate (WMA)

The Wealth Management Associate (WMA) plays a vital role in delivering exceptional support to wealth managers, ensuring the smooth execution of operational tasks with a focus on client-centricity, professionalism, and efficiency. As a strategic partner to the wealth manager, the WMA is responsible for managing deadlines, administrative tasks, and client communication, all aimed at enhancing the overall service and client experience. This role is crucial in enabling the wealth manager to focus on helping clients grow and preserve their wealth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative Support to Wealth Manager

   • Prepare and organize new client onboarding documentation.
   • Oversee the management and updating of client CRM profiles.
   • Liaise with both internal and external providers to resolve client queries and implement instructions.
   • Address and resolve administrative queries on behalf of the Wealth Manager.
   • Coordinate and prepare client review packs, with support from the administrative team and paraplanners, as necessary.

2. Legislative Compliance (FICA & FAIS)

   • Apply basic knowledge of the FAIS General Code of Conduct in daily work activities.
   • Draft and review Record of Advice and Replacement disclosure forms to ensure compliance with internal standards.
   • Ensure that client due diligence (CDD) is conducted according to FICA and company RMCP guidelines.

3. Technical Support

   • Stay up-to-date with the financial products used by service providers.
   • Compile proposal documents, financial needs analysis, and retirement needs analysis based on the Wealth Manager''s instructions and recommendations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in the financial planning environment, assisting Wealth Managers or Financial Advisors with administrative tasks.
• Strong understanding of FICA and FAIS regulations.
• High attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of information and deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Knowledge of XPlan is advantageous.
• Experience in creating and managing financial documentation, including client proposals and review packs.

Qualifications:

• A commerce or financial degree from a reputable tertiary institution.
• CFP designation is advantageous.
• RE5 certification is a plus.
