Main responsibilities:
Greeting guests at their assigned tables and ensuring each guest receives a menu and wine list
Maintaining thorough knowledge of all menu items, including basic ingredients and preparation methods
Ensuring tables are properly set with linens, silverware, and glassware
Taking accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system
Communicating orders timeously to bar and kitchen staff
Delivering food and beverages within specified timeframes
Clearing used cutlery and crockery
Offering desserts and coffee while upselling
Billing guests accurately
Maintaining a clean and hygienic restaurant environment, including fixtures and fittings
Ensuring a clean and professional uniform is worn at all times
Main requirements:
Grade 12
Preferably 3 years' previous waiter/waitress experience in a similar environment
Basic knowledge of wine and surrounding wine regions
Hands-on experience with a cash register and ordering information system
Basic mathematical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong customer service orientation, active listening skills, and a well-presented appearance
Attentive and patient when dealing with customers
Comfortable interacting with distinguished clientele
Flexibility, accountability, and an enthusiastic personality
