Treasury Assistant

POSITION INFO:
A well-established, dynamic organisation is looking for a Treasury Assistant to support its finance function with a focus on banking, reporting, compliance, and audit support.

This role is based in Midrand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Treasury Management:
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain clean banking records.
  • Housekeeping of banking users, approvers, and account details.
  • Ensure timely month-end bank closures and accurate transaction processing (within 48 hours).
  • Investigate and resolve bank-related queries promptly.
  • Assist with cash flow monitoring and forex reporting.
  • Support SARB applications and liaise with external banks.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for submission to the Finance Manager, CFO, and RHQ.
  • Provide audit reports as required by Auditors and regional stakeholders.
• External Audit Support:
  • Act as a primary contact for external Auditors.
  • Assist with data gathering and the resolution of audit queries.
  • Ensure smooth audit preparation and completion.
• Tax & Statutory Compliance:
  • Assist with calculations, data collation, and reporting for tax and statutory submissions.
  • Provide support to the Tax Specialist in managing company tax affairs and compliance obligations.
  • Help mitigate tax-related risks and ensure accurate statutory filings.
• Month-End Close:
  • Assist with month-end procedures and journal preparation.
  • Ensure accurate SG&A recording and analysis.
  • Help with clearing and account allocations during the month-end.
• Corporate Card Administration:
  • Administer the company’s corporate card system.
  • Support staff with card limit queries, system maintenance, and issue resolution.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
  • Investigate and reconcile relevant accounts.
  • Submit timely and accurate monthly reconciliations for the Finance Manager's review.
• Reporting:
  • Contribute to monthly reporting processes.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requirements from the CFO, Finance Manager, Auditors, and HQ stakeholders.

• BCom in Accounting/Financial Management
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA articles is non-negotiable
• 3 years minimum experience within treasury
