SUMMARY:
Large transport company situated in the East Rand urgently seeking a Manpower Supervisor / Manager of the National driver pool to ensure on-time deliveries and deliveries to the correct dealers as per clients'' requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Management of the National Driver Pool ensuring on-time deliveries and deliveries to correct dealers as per clients’ requirements.

• Manage the allocation, utilization, and optimization of drivers efficiently across all depots.

• Management of the Teflon Platform, Zebra Devices, and all other Telematics units

• Share Point: To ensure the spreadsheet is maintained and data is regularly & accurately updated to ensure that the correct decision is taken.

• Manage Driver Wellness: (Medicals; PDP; Trade Plate) Maintain and assist all drivers to have up to date medicals, Valid PDP, Passport & Trade plate.

• Manage driver Coordination and control driver turnaround times (Bus bookings).

• Maintenance of taxi rates.

• Driver briefing

• Liaising with (Account Executives and Logistics Controllers) to ensure that all queries are effectively and efficiently resolved

• Identifying logistical challenges and devising and implementing solutions (utilizing a proactive and pre-emptive approach to mitigate potential issues before they become problems).

• Provide feedback to management regarding all Manpower and Driver issues.

• Utilizing Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) in such a manner that all work is performed and presented in an accurate and uniform manner.

• Implement driver disciplinary action when required.

• Establish and maintain good working relationship with the Account Executives, Operations and Management

• Adhere to company Policies and Procedures

• Report Safety and Quality incidents to Management

• Assist company to achieve Safety and Quality objectives

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Extensive experience in logistics and/or project management

• Degree / Diploma in logistics or relevant tertiary education would be a definite advantage

• Management and leadership abilities

• Organised and comfortable with data analysis

• Very good geographical knowledge of RSA

• Fully conversant in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Fully conversant in cross border procedures

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to develop and document quality processes

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

• Ability to fluently communicate in Zulu and/or isiXhosa would be advantageous

• Ability to create and conduct verbal, visual and written presentations
