SUMMARY:
Training Officer – Fitting & Turning

JOB DESCRIPTION:

ROLE OVERVIEW:
Maximizing and actualizing the potential of all learners through the effective transfer of knowledge and skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • Matric Grade 12 (Mathematics and Science)
  • N 3 (National Certificate)
  • Qualified Artisan (Relevant Trade MQA Learnership Route))
  • Competent Assessor.
  • Competent Moderator.
  • NAMB registered Trade Test Officer
  • Occupationally Directed Education, Training and Development Practitioner NQF L5 (OD-ETDP)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 Years in a maintenance capacity in a heavy industrial industry after completion of Trade Test (Final Assessment).
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in training and development.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • In depth understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Cement/Lime manufacturing processes and equipment
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of applicable company and Seta Policies and Procedures
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of applicable Legislation

  • Communication & relationship building
  • Past knowledge at senior management involving negotiation or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organisation.
  • Past experience and knowledge of having overall control of planning, budgeting and implementing change.

Measure & Evaluate

  • Conduct RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)
  • Conduct Assessments (Formative & Summative)
  • Conduct Moderation
  • Compile learner/trainee reports

Managing the Workshop

  • Maintenance and care of assets and equipment
  • Supervision of learners
  • Procurement and control of training material, tools and spares
  • Implement, maintain and adhere to SHEQ standards/policies/safe behaviour
  • Ensure sound Admin & Financial systems

Manage Technical Knowledge

  • Centre of Excellence
  • Facilitate technical change
  • Coaching
  • Mentoring

Develop and facilitate key stakeholder relationships that contribute to the strategic affairs of the business
