Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.
About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position: Trainee Site Supervisor

Stipend: R5000.00 pm

Location: Pretoria (Soshanguve)

POSITION INFO:
Requirements

South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
Must not have participated on the programme before.
Matric
Advantageous: Psira Certificate
Experience in a similar position.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Supervision of Security Team

Assist in coordinating and supervising daily activities of security officers.
Monitor attendance and punctuality.
Ensure all officers are stationed as per duty roster.

2. Patrol Oversight

Participate in and oversee routine patrols.
Verify that officers are patrolling scheduled zones.
Address any gaps or irregularities in patrol reports.

3. Access Control Management

Monitor access control procedures at entry/exit points.
Support officers in dealing with unauthorized access attempts.
Escalate any security breaches to the Site Manager.

4. Incident Handling and Reporting

Assist in managing onsite incidents or emergencies.
Complete or verify incident reports submitted by officers.
Ensure proper documentation and communication with management.

5. Shift Handover and Briefings

Conduct and record shift handovers.
Deliver daily briefings to security staff.
Share updates on site operations, risks, and changes in procedures.

6. Communication and Reporting

Maintain professional communication with management and client representatives.
Compile daily activity reports for submission.
Report equipment faults, staff issues, or site irregularities.

7. Training & Development

Learn and follow company protocols and procedures.
Receive mentorship from senior supervisors or the site manager.
Attend all required training sessions and apply learnings in the field.

8. Compliance Checks

Assist in ensuring that officers are in proper uniform and equipped.
Support safety inspections and compliance with site rules.

9. Customer Relations

Support conflict resolution with visitors or staff.
Promote a professional and respectful site environment.

10. Stand-In Duties

Stand in for the Site Supervisor when delegated.
Ensure smooth operations during supervisor’s absence under guidance
