Toolmaker – Plastic Injection Moulds

SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to maintain, repair, troubleshoot and improve plastic injection moulds to maximise production uptime, product quality and mould reliability.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Toolmaker (Trade Test Essential)
• Minimum 5 years post-trade experience
• Minimum 3 years experience on plastic injection moulds
• Automotive OEM experience advantageous
• Experience with:
  • Multi-cavity moulds
  • Hot runner systems
  • Hydraulic & pneumatic core systems
  • Large moulds (advantageous)
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic core systems 
  • Working with Large Mould Preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and major overhauls of injection moulds
• Repair mould components including inserts, slides, lifters, ejector systems, cooling circuits and hot runners
• Diagnose and resolve mould defects and recurring failures
• Perform precision machining, fitting and polishing
• Read engineering drawings and work to close tolerances
• Complete maintenance records and inspection reports
• Recommend tooling improvements to improve reliability and reduce downtime
