POSITION INFO:

Job Title: Time & Attendance Clerk
Location: Benoni
Contract Type: Ongoing Contract
Salary: R13,000.00 per month

Purpose of the Role
The Time & Attendance Clerk is responsible for accurately managing and maintaining employee attendance records, ensuring all clocking data is correctly captured, processed, and reported. The role supports payroll and operations by ensuring compliance with company policies and labour regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Capture, monitor, and maintain daily employee attendance and timekeeping records
Administer and manage clocking systems (e.g., Best Time or similar)
Verify and reconcile time and attendance data, including overtime, leave, and absenteeism
Identify and investigate discrepancies in clocking records and resolve queries promptly
Generate and maintain accurate attendance reports for payroll processing
Liaise with supervisors and employees regarding timekeeping issues
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to attendance
Maintain proper filing and record-keeping systems (electronic and manual)
Assist with payroll input related to hours worked, leave, and overtime

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
Proven experience as a Time & Attendance Clerk or similar role
Experience working with Best Time App clocking system or similar timekeeping systems
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
Strong administrative and data capturing skills

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Strong organizational and time management skills

Advantageous

Experience working in payroll or HR support environments. Knowledge of labour legislation related to working hours and attendance.
