Test Analyst

Description:

A small agile development team looking for an Agile Tester with a Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Business Information Systems or appropriate certification in software testing such as ISTQB Foundation Certification in Software Testing, iSQI CAT (Certified Agile Tester). Solid experience will be considered as well.

Education:

N. Diploma/BTech/B.Sc. Information Technology with commensurate testing experience.

AND/OR

Certification in areas of software quality assurance or testing or quality assurance related certification(s), e.g. ISEB ISTQB foundation certification plus Agile Tester Extension or Certified Agile Tester – iSQI CAT with commensurate testing experience.            

Skills:

• Approximately 3 years’ testing experience required
• Manual Testing
• Apply relevant test methods and techniques
• Design and execute test Cases
• Reducing “Time to Test” trend on an ongoing basis
• Reducing “Defect Resolution Time” trend on an ongoing basis.
• Responsibility and ownership of defects
• Identifying and analysing defects, logging defects, and tracking defect resolution within release time frames
• Acceptance  and Exploratory Testing
• Reduction of manual testing in favour of automation
• Setup and maintain Automated Testing environments
• Test automation - setting up and/or maintaining an automated test environment
• Design & Implement
• Apply relevant test methods and techniques
• Develop test automation frameworks for the team
• Identifying, understanding and applying new technology and trends when developing test cases;
• Automated Testing
• Automate for regression testing always
• Design and execute test Cases
• Reducing “Time to Test” trend on an ongoing basis
• Reducing “Defect Resolution Time” trend on an ongoing basis
• Regression Testing and Manage Regression Risk
• Acceptance Testing
• Collaborate with the team to ensure acceptance tests are maintainable and are an effective element of a continuous integration environment;

• Perform as part of the Agile team
• Collaborate in an agile team, being familiar with agile principles and practices
• Adapt existing testing experience, knowledge, and best practices to agile projects
• Attend daily Stand-ups
• Accuracy and completeness of scoping and estimates of testing portion of user stories
• Create acceptance tests for user stories
• Custodian of quality of output (quality built in). Collaborate with the team to help every member take responsibility for Quality
• Support and participate in test automation
