POSITION INFO:

Tented Camp in Botswana is recruiting an Executive Chef to oversee the kitchen. The role is to support and training of all chefs, assist with special dietaries and ensure standards are maintained at all times. The candidate should enjoy working independently and have experience in working in luxury lodges or villas in other African settings.

Experience required:

Experience in the service industry in 5-star African lodges or villas

At least 5+ years relevant experience as an Executive Chef

Passion for creating fabulous food

Need to have a chef degree or diploma from a recognized institution

Batswana Candidates will have an advantage over other candidates

The country Botswana and its food philosophy

Spoken, written English and basic Setswana would be a plus

Duties include:

Responsibility to manage cost management

Have knowledge of products, local suppliers, prices and current stock

Food Safety and Hygiene

Menu Planning and Execution

Reviews staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met

Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards

Responsible for training chefs & implementing kitchen standards

Display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment, counselling employees as appropriate and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to management

Should be able to provide direction for all day-to-day operations in the kitchen

An understanding of working remotely

Reviews guest feed comments for guest satisfaction results and other data to identify areas of improvement
