Technician (Truck & Trailer Braking Systems)

SUMMARY:
Our client in the commercial transport industry is seeking a qualified and experienced Air Technician to join their team and will be responsible for the inspection, fault finding, repair, servicing, and maintenance of truck and trailer air brake systems.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on truck and trailer air brake systems
• Conduct inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance
• Repair and replace air valves, compressors, chambers, ABS/EBS components, and related systems
• Perform brake testing and ensure vehicles comply with safety standards
• Attend breakdowns and provide technical support when required
• Complete job cards and maintenance reports accurately
• Ensure all work is completed according to company and safety standards
• Travel to Botswana for site work and field service support when needed

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 to 4 years experience as an Air Technician on trucks and trailers
• Strong knowledge of truck and trailer air brake systems
• Experience with fault finding and diagnostics
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Valid drivers licence
• Valid passport (non-negotiable)
• Willingness to travel to Botswana
• Good communication and problem-solving skills

Advantageous

• Experience working on Volvo, Scania, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Hino, or other heavy commercial vehicles
• Knowledge of ABS/EBS braking systems
• Workshop and field service experience

Working Conditions

• Workshop and field-based environment
• Overtime and standby may be required
• Cross-border travel required from time to time
