Technical Sales Representative – Durban Kwazulu Natal     

Salary: R25-30K CTC

 

Purpose of Position:

 

Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Technical Sales Representative for a permanent position in Hillcrest, Durban Kwazulu Natal. Applicants from the Ink / Print industry will take preference. This position reports to the Chief Sales & Marketing Manager.

  • B-Tech/B. E or Diploma in Chemicals/Polymer Chemistry
  • 3-5 Years technical external sales experience from the Ink / Print industry
  • MS Office with sound computer knowledge
  • Experience working with Oracle will be advantageous
  • Own transport – based in Hillcrest / Pinetown surrounds
  • Must be neat and organized
  • The incumbent is required to focus that the product reaches the end customer with right quality and be well versed & updated with the application of product portfolio
  • The role requires incumbent to visit customer sites to support technical queries as he/she will be the single point of contact for any customer complaints/Sales/development queries.
  • The incumbent should have thorough knowledge of compliances related different markets for e.g., REACH, FDA etc.

Duties:

 

  • To support customers our new products application development and further growth of any new products which customer requires.
  • To develop sustainable technical solutions to the recurring issues affecting the performance of our products at customer end.
  • To conduct product trials and approvals with customers and or brand owners.
  • To support sales team with projects to maintain and increase market share
  • To support sustainability initiatives in line with global strategy and market needs.
  • To support business in providing quality product and services to diverse customer base in domestic markets having complex and varied quality and performance related requirements.

 

Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Customer complaint handling     
  • Control on customer complaints pertaining to product quality & packaging           
  • Turn-around time to resolve customer complaints
  • Minimize customer claims related product quality

 

Technical Services Support To Customers

  • Understands the issues related to product performance from application perspective at customer end.
  • Designs & recommends the specification for change in product in view of application requirement
  • Coordinate & interface with customers to understand chronic issues and their expectations
  • Consult with production & related processes team to resolve issues
  • Support to quality assurance team if required   
  • Lead time in providing support or resolving Issues

 

Benchmarking And Establishing Quality Standards For New Products

  • Ensure that regularly competitors samples are checked, and recommendation made to production for quality improvement
  • Develop and guide in implementation of quality systems and standards for new product             
  • No of new initiatives implemented

 

Decision Making Boundaries:

  • Approval under special conditions in consultation with Sales Head
  • Financial decision for any related sanction notes
  • Financial decision for any related Trials

 

Primary Interactions:

  • Work closely with internal cross-functional partners to ensure responsiveness to customer requests.

 

Domestic And Exports Marketing Team

  • Understanding about the quality requirements of the customers and making improvements in the product for both as and when required

 

External Customers

  • For product related specifications, complaints resolution etc. as and when required
  • Quality department of other units for getting feedback on the product quality being produced as required
  • Sales Head and other HODs at Site - Improvement in systems and processes, share customer complaints relevant to them
