POSITION INFO:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Representative to join their Durban team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strong customer relationships, generating new business and achieving annual gross profit and sales targets. This position requires a technically minded sales professional with solid experience in the fluid power industry and a strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic products and applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular sales calls with existing and prospective customers.
• Develop new business opportunities and expand the customer base.
• Achieve agreed annual sales and gross profit targets.
• Build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
• Provide accurate technical information to the engineering and workshop teams.
• Ensure customer enquiries, feedback and quotations are handled accurately and timeously.
• Maintain detailed customer call reports and sales records.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of tenders.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of the company''s product range.
• Prepare and present regular sales reports.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric with Mathematics and Science.
• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• A MerSETA-accredited qualification or course in Hydraulics and/or Pneumatics.
• Minimum of five years'' sales experience within the fluid power industry.
• Strong technical and mechanical background.
• Sound knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and products.
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets and develop new business.
• Computer literacy.
• Valid driver''s licence and own reliable vehicle.
• Knowledge of the SYSPRO ERP system would be advantageous.
