• This position is suited to an experienced external sales professional with a proven ability to develop business within heavy industry, manufacturing, mining, engineering and related industrial sectors.
• Applicants with technical sales experience in industrial electrical, mechanical, rotating equipment, automation, engineering services or industrial maintenance solutions will receive preference.
• High-quality industrial sales rep professionals with exposure / experience from companies such as ABB, Siemens, WEG, Actom, SEW-Eurodrive, Zest WEG, SKF, NTN SA, Timken SA, Bearing Man, BMG, Hudaco businesses (or similar), industrial automation suppliers, pump suppliers, gearbox companies, engineering service providers and rotating equipment specialists will receive preference.

A permanent employment opportunity exists for an experienced Technical Sales Representative to represent a long-established industrial engineering company servicing clients throughout KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, the Free State and surrounding regions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening existing customer relationships and promoting specialised industrial engineering solutions to a broad range of industrial clients.

This role is ideal for a motivated “on-the-road” hunter who enjoys spending time with customers, identifying opportunities, preparing quotations, following projects through to completion and becoming a trusted technical partner to industrial operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing industrial clients.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities across multiple industrial sectors.
• Conduct regular customer visits throughout assigned territories.
• Promote specialised industrial repair, refurbishment and engineering solutions.
• Liaise with maintenance managers, engineering managers, plant managers, production managers, procurement departments, and technical decision makers.
• Prepare quotations and follow up on outstanding opportunities.
• Work closely with the internal technical and workshop teams.
• Provide professional product and technical solution presentations.
• Assist customers in identifying suitable repair or replacement solutions.
• Monitor competitor activity and identify market trends.
• Attend customer shutdowns and planned maintenance opportunities where required.
• Achieve agreed sales targets and business development objectives.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales reports.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Minimum Grade 12.
• Relevant Sales, Technical or Engineering qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years external technical sales experience.
• Previous experience selling into industrial or engineering environments is essential.
• Sound understanding of industrial electrical and/or mechanical equipment.
• Ability to interpret customer technical requirements.
• Strong business development and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Self-driven with strong planning and organisational skills.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
• CRM experience advantageous.
• Valid Code EB driver''''s licence + Own vehicle
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout KZN, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Free State and surrounding regions.
• Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills.
• Stable employment history with traceable & contactable references.
• Local residency preferred or willingness to relocate.
