SUMMARY:
A national market leader seeks to employ an experienced packaging and consumable EXTERNAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE (PACKAGING CONSUMABLES) to service the retail, butchery, hospitality, catering and FMCG sectors.

A national market leader seeks to employ an experienced packaging and consumable  EXTERNAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE (PACKAGING CONSUMABLES) to service the retail, butchery, hospitality, catering and FMCG sectors.

• This position is based in Newcastle and will service the broader regions.
• We require a hunter salesperson with a passion for building relationships, opening new accounts and driving profitable growth.
• Highly motivated who thrives being on the road (Not a desk-bound position).
• We require an industry experienced individual who enjoys chasing targets and understand how to grow market share in a competitive environment. (Not an order taker)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify and secure new business opportunities
• Grow sales within existing accounts
• Build strong relationships with retailers, butcheries, wholesalers, and FMCG sectors including high volume packaging requiring customers
• Conduct regular customer visits and route planning across the Newcastle and metro regions
• Achieve monthly sales and GP targets
• Manage pricing, quotations, and negotiations
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends
• Ensure effective communication between customers and internal operations teams
• Drive profitable growth, not just turnover

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Proven external sales experience (packaging, FMCG, food service, or wholesale experience required)
• Strong track record in new business development
• Self-motivated and target-driven
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Valid driver’s licence
• Computer literate
• Ability to work independently and manage territory effectively
• Traceable & contactable references
• Local residency or relocation required
