SUMMARY:
The main purpose of this position is to provide team leadership in the management of the company Group’s short- and long-term insurance portfolios, including staff insurance schemes and the Financial Services Department’s payment screening functions.

  • Contribute to the section’s operational plan and plan work for self and others in the team.
  • Develop and maintain as well as ensure adherence to controls, practices, processes, rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with standards, policies and other guidelines.
  • Supervise quality and facilitate timeous delivery of the team’s output.
  • Supervise the payment screening and coordinate cross-functional execution of payment screening responsibilities.
  • Diagnose problems, choose and/or modify routines to deal with them, displaying the ability to provide solutions for problems within a defined context.
  • Supervise, review and authorise final approval of the calculations, accounting input and data captured by subordinates, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeous delivery, in accordance with the delegation of authority.
  • Supervise and authorise the administration of the staff insurance cover (processing of applications, placing of cover and effecting premium deductions).
  • Supervise and review the administration and processing of all insurance claims, ensuring adherence to the company policy, insurance coverage and practice, and approve related payments.
 
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
  • a minimum of a National Diploma in Insurance, Risk Management or an equivalent qualification; and
Three to five years of working experience in an insurance environment
