Job Description - Stores Manager

Our client, based in Merrivale, manufactures steel equestrian products, and are looking for a Stores Manager.

The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Comfortable handling, measuring and checking steel components in a manufacturing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• To ensure the optimum storage, handling, stock control and dispatch of all consumables, components, finished goods and tools & jigs.
• Order management - Expedite orders timeously and minimise backorders and delivery delays. Coordinate with suppliers to maintain stock levels.
• Outsource management - prepare and check the outward work for each outsourcer, quality control the incoming completed work
• Systems and administration - Ensure full compliance with all stores systems (Kanban) and administration procedures. Verify and process the necessary documentation.
• Quality - Ensure adherence to the required quality standards at each step of the manufacturing procedures.
• Stock control - Ensure stock levels are captured and correct; regulate according to demand and supply. Ensure on time and in full deliveries.
• Drive continuous improvement in the stores
• Safety/Security - Minimise risk of injury and ensure safety, health, environmental, and housekeeping standards
• Driving - Drop off and collections in the PMB greater area if necessary.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric qualification essential
• Driver's license essential
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Computer literacy, familiar with MS Office.
• Knowledge of a Kanban system.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position or environment
• Physically strong and reasonably fit

Package & Remuneration

• R204k per annum, negotiable.
