SUMMARY:
Stock Controller
Experienced and professional Stock Controller to join our organization. This role is responsible for maintaining the supply and demand of inventory and ensuring that there is adequate stock available. The Stock Controller position is full function stock control, procurement and import administration and accurate and detailed inventory database. This position reports to the Managing Director.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:
  • Matric/ grade 12
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a similar position
  • A qualification in supply chain, inventory/ stock control would be advantageous
  • Working experience on an ERP system and advanced Excel
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Run stock re-order report weekly, review validity of items to be ordered
  • Run back-order report daily, review items to be ordered (query with Sales if necessary)
  • Create stock purchase orders in ERP system
  • Obtain approval for PO’s before placing orders with suppliers
  • Open files for new shipments and insert all related documents until handed over to Finance for payment
  • Ensure order confirmations are received from suppliers and verify accuracy
  • Use correct tariff codes for all shipments
  • Obtain all relevant documentation from freight forwarders and track and trace shipments
  • Run Open PO’s report weekly, liaise with suppliers and update expected delivery dates
  • Prevent stock outages by identifying items where lead time will not be met and expedite those orders or ensure covered with an alternative. Communicate with Sales
  • Receipt all stock purchase orders including buy-outs
  • Create new product codes in central master file (stock database)
  • Maintain stock database including differentiation between standard and non-standard items
  • Obtain prices and lead times from suppliers for quoting by Sales Department
  • Create and receipt all non-stock purchase orders
  • Receipt Inter-branch Stock Transfers immediately upon receipt of documentation
  • Prepare credit notes for authorisation by checking stock balance in ERP against balance recorded on credit note
  • Process authorized credit notes and file
  • Cancel Demo & Test delivery notes received from Stores
  • Purchase monthly office groceries and cleaning materials
  • Control over company stationery including placing orders monthly
  • Oversee building repairs & maintenance including planning, obtaining quotes and liaising with suppliers
  • Assist with company stock counts
  • Manage Storeman as direct report and serve as back-up for this role
  • Ad hoc duties reasonably falling within the employee’s skills, experience and training
