SOUS CHEF

Somerset West: My client, a luxury 5-star country estate in the heart of the Cape Winelands, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join their culinary team. This position is suited to a hands-on, passionate chef with strong kitchen management skills, excellent culinary standards and the ability to lead and motivate a professional kitchen brigade.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist the Executive Chef with the daily management and smooth running of kitchen operations
Oversee food preparation, presentation and consistency in line with luxury hospitality standards
Supervise, motivate and develop kitchen staff
Monitor food costs, stock control, wastage and kitchen hygiene
Ensure efficient service delivery and adherence to food safety standards

Criteria:

Relevant professional culinary qualification
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in an equivalent senior kitchen position
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
Excellent knowledge of food costing, stock control and kitchen operations
Experience within an upmarket hotel, restaurant or luxury hospitality environment

Please note that consideration will be given primarily to applicants with relevant experience in an equivalent position within the hospitality industry, preferably in an upmarket or luxury establishment.
