SUMMARY:
A luxury Big 5 lodge in the Greater Addo, Eastern Cape is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join their professional kitchen team.
The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef with the day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef
- Experience within a luxury lodge, hotel or high-end hospitality environment
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation
- Good knowledge of food presentation and portion control
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety
- Ability to lead and supervise kitchen staff
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen
- Professional, hands-on and team-oriented approach

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and present high-quality meals to lodge standards
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during service
- Assist with menu preparation and daily meal planning
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation
- Monitor food preparation and portion control
- Assist with stock control and kitchen ordering
- Ensure correct food storage and minimise wastage
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
- Ensure food safety procedures are followed
- Assist with training and development of kitchen staff
- Step in for the Head Chef when required

PACKAGE:
- Salary: R12,000 – R15,000 per month
- Live-in accommodation
