Short-Term Insurance Representative – Medical Malpractice & Professional Indemnity

Duties & Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Risk Management

• Advise clients on Medical Malpractice, Professional Indemnity and related insurance solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive risk needs analyses and establish appropriate insurance requirements.
• Explain policy structures, terms, conditions, exclusions and extensions clearly to clients.
• Identify appropriate insurance solutions and place cover with suitable insurers and underwriting partners.
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and provide ongoing technical support.

New Business & Policy Administration

• Manage new business enquiries from initial assessment through to placement.
• Prepare and present appropriate insurance solutions and product information.
• Obtain and assess relevant underwriting information.
• Manage policy documentation and ensure all information is accurate and complete.
• Process endorsements, policy amendments, cancellations and other policy changes.
• Ensure all transactions and client interactions are accurately captured on the relevant systems.

Renewals & Client Management

• Proactively manage the renewal process and ensure clients receive timely communication.
• Review existing cover and identify changes in client circumstances or risk exposures.
• Ensure renewal terms and recommendations are appropriately presented and documented.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and follow up on outstanding information and documentation.

Claims Support

• Assist clients with claims notifications and the completion of required documentation.
• Support clients throughout the claims process and follow up on outstanding matters where required.
• Liaise with internal claims teams and relevant insurers to facilitate effective claims administration.

Compliance & Business Development

• Ensure all advice and transactions comply with applicable FAIS requirements and internal compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate, complete and auditable client and policy records.
• Work effectively within CRM and structured workflow systems.
• Identify appropriate cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
• Maintain a strong ethical, compliant and risk-aware approach to client servicing.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• FAIS-compliant Representative.
• Relevant RE5 qualification.
• Completed Class of Business: Short-Term Insurance.
• Minimum 3 years' proven experience within Short-Term Insurance broking.
• Experience in Medical Malpractice and/or Professional Indemnity will be advantageous.
• Candidates without direct Medical Malpractice experience will also be considered where they have strong relevant Short-Term Insurance technical and broking experience.
• Valid driver's licence and own vehicle.
