We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sewing Machine Technician to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of industrial sewing machines and related equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of industrial sewing machines (e.g., lockstitch, overlock, cover stitch, bar-tack, buttonhole machines).

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on sewing equipment.

• Ensure machines are operating at optimal performance with minimal downtime.

• Install, adjust, and calibrate machines for different garment styles and materials.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.

• Train machine operators on basic troubleshooting and proper machine handling.

• Collaborate with production staff to ensure machines meet operational and quality standards.

• Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment

Requirements

• Proven experience (3+ years) as a sewing machine technician in a garment manufacturing or textile production environment.

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

• Matric certificate (Grade 12); relevant technical qualifications or training is a plus.

• Must be based in Cape Town
