SUMMARY:
Service Department Supervisor required to join leading Retailer based in Ballito. Required to effectively plan, control and monitor the performance of the service departments to ensure that they operate at an optimal level.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities:

Manage Department targets and profitability of all service departments including: Butchery, Bakery, Delicatessen, Fresh Produce, Restaurant
Manage stock
Pricing and POS
Manage Service Department Promotions
Hygiene & Housekeeping
Staff management
Customer service
Open and close the store

Requirements:

At least 5 years experience in all aspects of day-to-day running and managing of a Service Department / Trainee Management Programme
Computer literacy required
Industrial Relations experience recommended
Matric /NQF level 4 equivalent
Tertiary Qualifications in Fresh food management/equivalent
Prepared to work long hours (Working Hours – 7am to 4pm. 1 weekend off a month and 1 day a week off in other weeks.)

Knowledge of:

Current and future trends of consumers shopping habits
The FMCG retail environment
Products across all service departments
Controls used to maintain ideal stock levels and sales mix during different trading periods
Controls required to manage the cold chain
Disciplines required to maintain sanitation standards in a fresh food environment
Managing human resources as well as industrial relations
General management including managing finance/operations/self/staff
Legal requirements for fresh food handling
