About the Role
Our client is looking for a Senior Trainer – Hospitality to lead training and development within their hospitality division. This role focuses on operational excellence, leadership readiness, and succession planning across all hotel and housekeeping functions. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, presentable, and able to build excellent relationships with staff at all levels. They must be results-driven, able to deliver measurable improvements in performance, and highly competent in administrative tasks to ensure training programs are efficiently planned, tracked, and reported. This position is based in Honeydew, Gauteng, but requires travel to various client sites across Gauteng as per operational needs.

POSITION INFO:
What you’ll be doing

• Design and deliver training programs across front office, housekeeping, and guest services
• Coach and mentor supervisors and managers in preparation for succession into key roles
• Identify and develop high-potential staff for leadership pipelines
• Conduct skills gap analyses and align training with operational and brand standards
• Standardize training materials, SOPs, and competency assessments across properties
• Partner with HR and Operations to support performance management and career development initiatives

• Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management or related field
• 5 - 8 years’ hotel management experience, preferably as Rooms Division or Operations Manager
• Proven experience in staff training, mentoring, and performance development
• Knowledge of housekeeping standards, front office systems, and guest experience management
• ETDP/SETQAA or facilitator/assessor certification is advantageous
• Valid driver’s license and access to a car (travel to multiple sites required)
• Clear criminal record
• Grade 12 certificate and further education diploma

• Strong leadership and coaching ability
• Deep understanding of hotel operations and service standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; presentable and able to engage effectively with staff at all levels
• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple properties or training sites
• Results-driven with excellent administrative and reporting skills

• Competitive salary with provident fund contribution – R30 000 to R35 000 CTC per month based on qualification and experience with provident fund contributions.
