Senior Buyer (Manufacturing sector)

POSITION INFO:

Our client is a manufacturer of automotive components for the OEM based in Durban. They are looking for a Senior Buyer

Brief Role Description

To ensure that the company operates effectively by sourcing raw material on time & in full as per the production requirements.

Key Duties:

Cost Control

Supplier Management

Monitor supplier delivery performance (OTIF) daily
Manage supplier agreements (Supply agreement & SLA) for direct material / component suppliers
Manage BBBEE compliance for all suppliers
Monthly reporting – supplier performance
Manage supplier risk

Expediting

Generate purchase orders as per production requirements
Ensure supplier receives and accept orders
Follow up and resolve shortages and late deliveries (Raw material and components)
Notify management regarding any late delivery / shortages that can cause a risk to production
Manage outsourced parts and raw material stock

Administration

Generate and update raw material budget and ensure all info is accurate as per policies and targets
Generate supplier forecasts and send to suppliers
Manage supplier RFQ’s
Ensure all Purchasing procedures and processes are updated and filed as per company policy
Assist with department / finance queries
Department reporting
