SUMMARY:

Semi-Skilled Technician (Panel Beating Industry)

A workshop in JHB - Brakpan is seeking a Semi-Skilled Technician to join their team on a contractor basis. Mid-career level with 2-4 years of experience in the Automotive and Engineering industry.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the repair of damaged vehicle body panels.
Remove and refit vehicle components such as bumpers, lights, mirrors, trims, and door handles.
Perform basic panel beating tasks under supervision.
Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, filling, and priming.
Operate workshop tools and equipment safely.
Assist with vehicle stripping and assembly.
Ensure repairs are completed according to workshop quality standards.
Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe.
Report damaged tools or equipment to the supervisor.
Follow company procedures and health and safety regulations.
Assist with loading and moving vehicles within the workshop when required.

Minimum Requirements:

Matric (preferred).
1-3 years' previous experience in a panel beating or automotive workshop.
Basic knowledge of vehicle body repairs.
Familiarity with workshop hand tools and power tools.
Valid driver's licence (advantageous).
Ability to work overtime when required.

Physical Requirements:

Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
Report unsafe conditions immediately.
Handle tools and equipment responsibly.
