Our client is an importer and agent for metal working machinery, specializing in both new and used machine tools. The company operates within a fast-paced, small business environment. Day-to-day operations require flexibility, multi-tasking, and a high level of dedication.

The Role: Sales representative (Engineering Equipment)

The On the Road Sales Representative is a multi-faceted position designed to drive revenue growth through internal counter sales and external field sales. The role exists to manage the entire sales and operational lifecycle, including direct customer consulting, government tenders, international logistics, inventory management, and after-sales care. The main focus areas begin with a structured probationary period ranging from 6 to 9 months, starting with intensive in-house counter sales training before moving into active field sales.

Key Responsibilities

Maximize the sales of machines, accessories, and spare parts via internal counter sales and external field channels.
Conduct regular customer visits for the explicit purpose of generating new business and concluding sales transactions.
Actively handle and process government tenders.
Provide specialised spare parts advisory services and drive spare parts sales.
Deliver comprehensive after-sales service and maintain ongoing customer satisfaction.
Coordinate closely with the technical service department to address client machinery requirements.
Oversee spare parts ordering and manage the logistics process for shipments coming from the Far East.
Maintain strict stock control and actively participate in company stock takes.

About You

Willingness to operate effectively in a small business setting where responsibilities extend beyond standard sales boundaries.
Proficiency in compiling and managing spreadsheets for weekly project and sales reporting.
Ability to assist with online marketing, website upkeep, and newsletter production.
Ability to oversee international ordering processes and supply chain logistics from the Far East.
Capability to legally and safely operate a company-provided vehicle for external client visits and field sales duties.
Absolute commitment to maintaining the strict confidentiality of all company information, client data, and operational procedures.
