Sales Representative

Gauteng -  Our client is a leading national importer and supplier of specialized electrical and lighting components, partnering with major distribution networks, wholesale groups, and construction professionals across South Africa.

The External Sales Representative will manage and expand a major commercial territory covering Gauteng, the Free State (Bloemfontein), and parts of the North West. This is a highly active field-sales position requiring extensive travel, technical relationship building, and independent territory management.

Key responsibilities

• Accelerate sales growth and secure new distribution and project accounts across Gauteng and the Free State.
• Conduct regular on-site and in-store visits to electrical wholesalers, contractors, and distributors.
• Deliver product demonstrations, host trade activations, and participate in regional industry association meetings.
• Build technical relationships with developers, architects, and engineers to support product specification for future projects.
• Assist clients with basic on-site troubleshooting, product setup, and technical queries.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date sales records utilizing internal CRM and reporting systems.  

• Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, with external field sales experience highly preferred.
• Fluent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English are non-negotiable for regional customer demographics.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Absolute willingness to travel extensively across multiple provinces, including overnight travel.
• Proven exposure to or experience within an electrical, lighting, hardware, or building materials environment is highly advantageous.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with CRM data entry.

• Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working autonomously without constant supervision.
• Exceptionally strong relationship-building, communication, and closing skills.
• Adaptable and resourceful, with a hands-on approach to technical product tracking.

• R22 000 – R28 000 basic salary per month + commission
