ROLE PURPOSE

Why This Role Exists

This role exists to protect, grow and maximise revenue within an established client base.

As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for client retention, account growth and transactional revenue through once-off sales, renewals, upgrades and project opportunities.

You will play a critical role in ensuring clients remain satisfied while continuously identifying opportunities to increase value, expand accounts and strengthen long-term relationships.

This is a commercially focused, client-facing role for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented and confident managing both relationships and revenue.

Your success will be measured by client retention, revenue contribution, account growth and consistency in execution.

YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS

TARGETS & PERFORMANCE MEASURES

How Performance Is Measured

This role has clear revenue, retention and operational performance expectations.

You will be measured on your ability to protect existing revenue, grow client accounts through structured sales activity and maintain high standards across all client and sales processes.

Key Performance Indicators Include:

• Once-off gross profit sales contribution

• SLA upgrades and account uplift

• Monthly recurring revenue contribution through account growth

• Client retention and satisfaction levels, with a target of 95% or higher

• Referral generation from satisfied clients

• Completion of scheduled IT assessments

• Conversion of IT assessments into commercial projects

• CRM hygiene and data accuracy

• Process compliance

• Task completion within required timelines

• Response times and client engagement levels

• Overall quality of client service and follow-through

This is a performance-driven role where consistency, client trust and revenue contribution are equally important.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Client Retention & Relationship Management

You will be responsible for maintaining strong, long-term relationships with your assigned client base.

This includes:

• Building trust and maintaining regular communication with clients

• Developing a strong understanding of each client''s business and requirements

• Maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and retention

• Acting as a reliable point of contact for client queries and commercial requirements

• Identifying potential risks to client relationships early

• Resolving issues proactively and escalating where appropriate

• Identifying opportunities to increase client value and strengthen relationships

2. Sales Delivery & Account Growth

You will drive revenue growth through structured sales activity within existing accounts.

This includes:

• Identifying and closing once-off sales opportunities

• Identifying opportunities for account expansion

• Driving SLA upgrades and account growth

• Supporting cross-selling of relevant products, services and technology solutions

• Managing renewals across:

  • Licensing

  • Security

  • Backup solutions

  • Other recurring services

• Following up on quotations and outstanding opportunities

• Maintaining momentum throughout the sales process

• Identifying opportunities to increase monthly recurring revenue

3. IT Assessments & Project Conversion

You will support the commercial conversion of technical assessments and identified client requirements.

This includes:

• Ensuring scheduled IT assessments are completed

• Following up on assessment outcomes

• Identifying commercial opportunities arising from assessments

• Supporting the conversion of assessments into projects

• Working with internal technical teams to develop appropriate solutions

• Maintaining momentum from assessment through to commercial outcome

• Following up on project proposals and quotations

4. Sales Administration & CRM Discipline

You will ensure all sales activity is accurately captured, managed and processed.

This includes:

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in Zoho CRM

• Recording client interactions, opportunities and follow-ups

• Preparing and managing quotations accurately

• Processing orders and supporting invoicing requirements

• Maintaining accurate opportunity stages and sales information

• Completing required sales administration within defined timelines

• Preparing and submitting structured weekly scorecards and reports

• Ensuring all agreed tasks and follow-ups are completed on time

5. Collaboration & Team Support

You will work closely with internal teams to support successful client outcomes.

This includes:

• Supporting the Lead Account Manager with client reviews and meetings

• Sharing relevant client feedback with Sales and Marketing

• Working with technical teams to understand and address client requirements

• Coordinating internally to ensure clients receive appropriate solutions

• Communicating commercial opportunities to relevant stakeholders

• Providing support and guidance to junior team members where required

• Contributing to a collaborative and accountable sales environment

6. Supplier & Operational Coordination

You will support commercial outcomes through effective supplier and operational coordination.

This includes:

• Managing supplier relationships and pricing where required

• Obtaining and comparing supplier pricing where appropriate

• Coordinating product and service delivery

• Ensuring client requirements are accurately communicated to suppliers and internal teams

• Supporting stock tracking and sales-related audits

• Maintaining accurate documentation

• Following structured internal processes

• Identifying and resolving operational issues that may impact client delivery

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This position is based in Somerset West, Western Cape, and operates on a hybrid working model.

The role combines independent account management with regular collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Technical and operational teams.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working independently, managing their own pipeline and priorities, while maintaining strong communication with both clients and internal stakeholders.
