Revenue Controller

SUMMARY:
Are you a CA(SA) or CIMA-qualified finance professional with strong management accounting and cost management experience? An opportunity is available within a large, complex financial services environment for an Opex Controller who will take ownership of the operating cost base and provide meaningful financial insight to senior stakeholders.

This is more than a reporting role. You will be responsible for understanding how costs are incurred, allocated and reported, while challenging cost owners and driving greater discipline around budgeting, forecasting, procurement and expenditure.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and consolidate operating expenditure across multiple entities and cost centres.
• Prepare monthly reporting and provide variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Lead the annual opex budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts.
• Challenge cost centre owners on expenditure, assumptions and variances.
• Conduct detailed reviews of major expense categories and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage cost allocations, intercompany charges and group recharges.
• Develop dashboards and reporting to improve visibility of operating costs.
• Support ERP and process improvement initiatives, including automation of reporting.
• Monitor procurement compliance and expenditure controls.
• Develop and implement expenditure policies and controls.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Act as a finance business partner to cost centre owners and senior stakeholders.

• CA(SA), newly qualified or with up to approximately three years' post-qualification experience.
• CIMA with equivalent experience will be considered.
• Articles completed at a recognized professional services or audit firm.
• Experience in management accounting, cost reporting, budgeting or opex management.
• Multi-entity and intercompany experience.
• Financial Services, payments or fintech exposure advantageous.
• Strong ERP experience; Microsoft Dynamics 365 exposure advantageous.
• SOX or similar control environment exposure advantageous.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
