POSITION INFO:
An exciting opportunity is available for a detail-oriented and proactive Regional Accountant to join a well-established international business with operations across Africa.

This role offers the opportunity to work with multiple African entities, providing financial oversight and supporting accurate financial reporting while collaborating with finance and operational teams across the region.

This role is based in Midrand.

Key Responsibilities:

Take full responsibility for the monthly accounting close for multiple African entities, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines.
Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, provisions, allocations and recharges.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items promptly.
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
Ensure strong financial controls are maintained in line with company policies and regional requirements.
Support continuous improvements to accounting processes, documentation and internal controls.
Perform statutory and government account reconciliations.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Monitor outstanding balances and assist with cash collection initiatives.
Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts.
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain effective cash controls.
Support inventory accounting, stock counts and investigation of inventory variances.
Assist with external and internal audits, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Collaborate with regional finance teams to ensure consistent accounting practices across multiple entities.
Assist with ERP system enhancements, data integrity reviews and finance process standardisation initiatives.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Minimum 3 years' accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity, regional or multinational environment.
Essential: Practical working experience with both Sage and Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
