Reconciliations Manager

About the Role

The main purpose of the position is to manage the cash reconciliation process according to company policies and procedures. 

Your Key Responsibilities will Include:

• Review, update and implement reconciliation processes and procedures: Identifying improvements, implementing and enforcing sound procedures, and overseeing reporting on deficiencies.

• Management of Quality control, review and support on branch reconciliations: Reviewing overall quality, daily bank recons, conducting random audits, and assisting branches.

• Management of Head Office reconciliations: Managing counter-check processes, conducting random audits, reviewing month-end recons, following up on anomalies, and managing treasury recons.

• Management of the resolution of queries and provision of support on outstanding reconciliation matters: Overseeing query types, conducting branch visits and training, and providing staff training for query resolution.

• Development and compilation of reconciliation reports: Assisting with investigations, generating ad-hoc reports, and managing year-end audits.

• Staff management and development: Ensuring defined job profiles, performance contracts, goal reviews, addressing poor performance, providing coaching, ensuring development plans, allocating resources, effective communication, and succession planning.

• Health and Safety: Participating in safety plans, forums, reporting incidents, attending training, and complying with policies.

Desired Qualification and Experience 

• Diploma or Financial Qualification

• 5-10 years of relevant reconciliation experience

• 3 years of staff management experience, and computer literacy (advanced Excel).

• Experience in Cash Management Centres, a solid understanding of ERP/Accounting packages (SAP advantageous), and exposure to banking systems are also beneficial.
