Reception Shift Leader

As we continue our journey toward luxury, we are looking for an experienced Front Office Shift Leader who can confidently lead the Front Office team while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12)

• Hospitality qualification or diploma (advantageous)

• Minimum 3–4 years' experience within a hotel Front Office environment

• Previous experience as a Front Office Shift Leader, Senior Receptionist, Front Office Supervisor, or similar leadership role

• Strong hands-on OPERA PMS experience essential

• Strong computer literacy, including OPERA PMS and Microsoft Office

• Previous experience within a busy 4-star or 5-star hotel environment preferred

• Excellent communication, leadership, and guest service skills

• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

• Professional grooming and presentation

What You'll Be Doing

• Taking full ownership of the Front Office operation during your shift

• Leading, motivating, and supporting the Front Office team to ensure smooth daily operations

• Managing guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently using OPERA PMS

• Delivering exceptional guest service while creating memorable guest experiences

• Welcoming guests, managing VIP arrivals, and handling special requests professionally

• Resolving guest concerns quickly and effectively while maintaining service excellence

• Monitoring arrivals, departures, room allocations, room status, and daily operational reports

• Conducting shift briefings and structured shift handovers

• Maintaining Front Office standards, SOPs, financial controls, and operational procedures

• Ensuring billing accuracy, cashiering controls, and smooth shift closures

• Working closely with Housekeeping and other hotel departments to ensure seamless operations

• Assisting with training, coaching, and developing Front Office team members

• Supporting audits, reporting requirements, and operational compliance
