We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Qualified Red Seal Motor Technician to join our luxury dealership workshop team, working on diesel and petrol vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish parts required for service or repairs and ensure correct parts are ordered
• Report to the foreman promptly on any additional work required and obtain authorisation before proceeding
• Adhere strictly to manufacturer technical specifications and standards
• Follow workshop policies and procedures
• Accurately document work performed, including cause and correction, on job cards
• Ensure old parts are correctly bagged, tagged or returned as per procedure
• Book all oils and consumables used on the job card
• Keep vehicles and work areas clean, safe and tidy
• Record time accurately and promptly after work is completed
• Report faulty or broken equipment to the foreman
• Use special tools and equipment with care
• Maintain a complete, well-kept set of own hand tools as per the M.I.F. list
• Repair vehicles to specification within flat rate time
• Mentor and monitor apprentices/learners, correcting work as needed
• Maintain a neat appearance and cordial relationships with workshop staff
• Respect customer vehicles and property at all times

Requirements:

• National Senior Certificate
• Red Seal Trade Certificate
• Strong diagnostic skills (scanners, multimeters, code readers)
• Sound knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and suspension systems
• Understanding of wiring diagrams, sensors and computer networks (e.g. CAN bus)
• Proficient with hand tools, pneumatic wrenches, lifts and specialised garage equipment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Good communication skills to explain repairs and costs to customers
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina
• Adaptability to learn new vehicle technologies, including EVs and ADAS
• Good computer skills
