SUMMARY:
QUALITY ASSURANCE LEAD Must be a Registered Pharmacist Technician or Pharmacist with experience in pharmacology, toxicology or related field (Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, etc)

POSITION INFO:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience in developing and leading continual improvement of a GMP Quality Management System.
  • Knowledge of the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations, Food and Drugs Act, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Pest Control Products Act, and Fertilizer Act
  • Experience in an ISO:9001, ISO:22000, PICS:GMP environment is considered an asset.
  • Registered Pharmacist Technician or Pharmacist with experience in pharmacology, toxicology or related field (Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, etc)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication in both oral and written formats
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment.
  • Must understand manufacturing processes

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Ensures Standard Operating Procedures are in place and accurately documented to ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Monitor activities to ensure we adhere to SOPs.
  • Review and approval of input materials, equipment, premises, and standard operating procedures.
  • Liaise with QAS heads at HQ to ensure we are up to date with all company SOP’s and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, and Marketing departments to ensure compliance with the relevant Government regulations and guidelines.
  • Lead review and enforcement to SA & Lesotho GMP.
  • Support continuous quality improvement through participation in HACCP and Food Safety.
  • Review and approval of product for sale post testing.
  • Coordinate testing with Third party testing laboratories.
  • Internal audits of facility to ensure compliance.
  • Review of quality complaints and their associated investigations.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Training of Junior staff on QMS and quality principles.

Our Client is an integrated diversified cannabis business with headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa. They are a licensed cultivator of high quality, low-cost medical-grade cannabis at their 200Ha facility in Lesotho.

The business has several distinct business models and routes to revenue.

Our Clients primary focus is on supplying high quality, low cost GACP certified THC and CBD flower for extract as well as EU GMP certified extract.

They offer contract cultivation services where they grow on behalf of other companies either using their genetics or a selection from their own. They also currently are developing and selling a range of their own consumer products. They have a highly qualified, commercially strong leadership team that includes a team of Agronomists, Scientists, Pharmacists and Engineers who oversees their cultivation process. In total, our client currently employs 20 permanent staff in Cape Town and Lesotho, and up to 40 people are hired on a seasonal basis from the local community.

IN CLOSING

We are ideally looking for someone from the Bloemfontein and surrounding areas as you shall be expected to live in the Ficksburg area and commute daily across the border to Lesotho
