POSITION INFO:
oin a well-established property business managing a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential assets across South Africa. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded Property Accountant to become a key part of the finance team, taking ownership of portfolio reporting, lease accounting, reconciliations and financial controls while partnering with property managers to maximise portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts for property portfolios.
• Perform tenant, landlord and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process month-end journals and accruals.
• Maintain lease schedules and property financial records.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Assist with annual audits and statutory reporting.
• Manage utility recoveries, operating expenses and rental income reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow and portfolio performance.
• Work closely with property managers to provide financial insights.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification is essential.
• 3+ years' experience as a Property Accountant or Accountant within the property industry.
• Commercial and residential property experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of lease accounting, tenant billing and property reconciliations.
• Experience preparing management accounts and budgets.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple properties and work to strict reporting deadlines.
