Production Manager (Bloemfontein)

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Production Manager with steel industry experience to oversee and manage daily production operations. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient and timely production while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role involves supervising a team of 8 employees and optimizing production output.

POSITION INFO:
Position available for a Production Manager in Bloemfontein. 

Salary: R20 000 – R 25 000 pm

Working hours: Monday to Friday 7am- 16:30pm

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12) – Required
• Tertiary qualification in Production Management / Industrial Engineering or similar – Advantageous
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within the steel industry

• Proven experience as a Production Manager in the steel or manufacturing industry.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, reporting, scheduling).
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations in an industrial environment.

• Oversee and coordinate daily steel production activities to ensure targets and deadlines are met.
• Supervise and manage a team of 8 production staff members.
• Monitor workflow and production schedules to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain and improve production efficiency, quality, and output.
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in the production area.
• Conduct regular team meetings and provide training/coaching where necessary.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports using Excel to track production metrics.
• Identify and resolve any production or personnel issues swiftly.
• Liaise with procurement, logistics, and quality teams to ensure seamless operations.
