Procurement Officer

SUMMARY:
Responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials required for sales orders and workshop operations. Fluent in Afrikaans

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure goods, materials, and services
• Build and manage strong supplier relationships
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
• Process purchase orders and follow up on deliveries
• Maintain accurate procurement records and data
• Collaborate with internal sales teams on material requirements
• Monitor supplier performance and compliance
• Assist with inventory management and stock control
• Compile procurement reports and identify cost-saving opportunities

Technical & Product Knowledge

• Develop expertise in fasteners, grades, coatings, and specifications (e.g. 8.8 / 10.9 / B7 / SS304 / SS316)
• Understand ISO, DIN, and ASTM standards
• Recommend alternative solutions when stock is unavailable
• Gain insight into applications across engineering, manufacturing, mining, and construction industries

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)
• 2–3 years’ experience in procurement/purchasing (fasteners, engineering, or industrial supply preferred)
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Experience with ERP systems (SYSPRO advantageous)
• Proficient in MS Office & Outlook 365
