Procurement Assistant

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Procurement Assistant to join their team in Isando, Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a relevant Diploma or Degree in Business, along with 1–3 years’ experience in a commercial purchasing, administration, or logistics environment. Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and time-management skills are essential, together with knowledge of purchasing and sourcing, stock control, and B-BBEE procurement requirements. REQUIREMENTS:

• Relevant Diploma or Degree in Business.
• 1–3 years of experience in a commercial purchasing, administration, or logistics role.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Ability to understand and interact effectively with suppliers and managers and attend to the needs of the company.
• Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain an organized, tidy, and accurately dated filing system.
• Strong document management and record-keeping skills.
• Knowledge of B-BBEE, with specific focus on the procurement element.
• Knowledge of purchasing and sourcing concepts.
• Knowledge of stock control.

• Act as the interface between suppliers and the organization with respect to specifications and budgets.
• Conduct supplier reviews to ensure the best service and pricing.
• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers.
• Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and identify ways to reduce costs where possible.
• Review opportunities to achieve business savings.
• Ensure suppliers comply with terms of reference.
• Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
• Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and organisational targets and requirements.
• Contact suppliers to resolve pricing, quality, delivery, or invoice-related issues.
• Ensure all suppliers' B-BBEE certificates are valid and compliant with Group policy.
• Explore alternative sources for goods and materials.
• Manage problems and schedule changes to prevent delays in stock availability.
• Ensure the continuous supply of required goods and materials.
• Communicate any supply problems that may pose a risk to or impact business operations.
• Process goods received and complete Goods Received Notes (GRNs) on the IT system.
• Process returned spares from technicians' locations back to the warehouse.
• Create new coolers for Draught and Fountain and process credit notes to Location 811.
• Create new coolers received from ABI for Fountain and process credit notes to Location 804.
• Process requisitions and stock issues for special events.
• Assist the Draught team with queries relating to invoicing and shortages of spares.
• Request new item and asset creation using the relevant Excel templates.
• Assist with issuing and returning physical stock to and from technicians in the warehouse.
