Procurement Administrator
Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Full-Time | Onsite (Office & Operational Environment)

A well-established company operating within the building materials and construction supply sector is seeking a Procurement Officer to join their Durban team.

This role requires a hands-on procurement professional who is comfortable working both in an office environment and within a busy operational warehouse. The successful candidate will support purchasing activities across multiple branches and work closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure stock availability and efficient procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure non-stock items, consumables, repairs and maintenance materials, packaging materials and PPE

• Generate and manage purchase orders

• Monitor and maintain stock ordering levels

• Track daily and weekly procurement reports

• Compile procurement and variance reports

• Liaise with internal departments and operational teams regarding purchasing requirements

• Maintain supplier records and procurement documentation

• Participate in weekly procurement and operational meetings

• Assist the Senior Buyer with sourcing and supplier coordination

• Support branch operations with procurement requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain

• Experience within construction materials, hardware, manufacturing or industrial supply advantageous

• Strong supplier negotiation and sourcing ability

• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment

• Comfortable working in and around a large warehouse environment

• Strong organisational and administrative skills

• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (Afrikaans essential)

• Valid driver’s licence and own transport

Preferred Experience

• ERP system experience (K8 / Kerridge or similar advantageous)

• Procurement reporting and inventory monitoring

• Supplier relationship management
