Payroll Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Outline:

Responsible for accurate and efficient processing of payroll information and the administration of payroll related duties.

Travel: Although this will be minimised the person might need to travel from time to time to the mine, 70km from Polokwane. Normally this requires sleeping over. (It is becoming far less as the site is now starting to run with its own personnel in place)

Responsibilities:

Adhere to best practices and efficiency of payroll processes
Input payroll information for permanent employees, fixed term, and fixed rate employees, including resignations, increases, bonuses, garnishee deductions
Good understanding of payroll, provident fund rules, medical aid rules, SARS rules, UIF, PAYE etc
Prepare monthly Site allowances report showing relevant Project allocations
Maintain employee records on the Payroll System and in payroll files
Assist in payroll calculations, and support the Payroll Team where applicable
Reconcile the unpaid Leave and input to Payroll System
Produce and provide standard monthly reports for management
Perform all payroll-related administration and support duties e.g., filling and archiving
Process and assist with payroll cashbook
Assist with daily and monthly adhoc duties
Handle day to day queries
Ensure all employees are paid accurately and timeously

Minimum Requirements:

Completed Matric with Maths and Accounting
A relevant financial and / or payroll qualification will be advantageous
At least 5 years’ experience in a payroll and financial administration
Computer Literate, all MS Offices Packages
Excellent MS Excel skills – Training will be given on Built
Knowledge and experience on Payroll Systems such as VIP and Pastel
