About Our Client

Our client is a highly respected, premier wealth management and financial advisory firm based in Sandton. Known for their client-centric approach and high ethical standards, they provide bespoke financial solutions to high-net-worth individuals and families. They are currently seeking a highly skilled, energetic, and self-starting Paraplanner to join their dynamic Financial Advisory Services team.

Main Purpose of the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing written Records of Advice (ROAs), performing technical financial calculations, and drafting accurate financial plans on behalf of Wealth Managers and Advisors. You will play a crucial role in co-ordinating the paraplanning workflow, ensuring all client recommendations meet legislative, compliance, and company policy standards.

Key Responsibilities

•  

  Financial Planning & Advice: Complete technical work requests, draft complex Records of Advice (ROAs), and prepare precise financial plans ahead of planning meetings.

•  

  Technical Analysis: Conduct detailed technical analyses, including fund comparisons, fee structures, Capital Gains Tax (CGT) calculations, penalties, fact sheets, and product benefits.

•  

  Workflow Co-ordination: Assist in prioritizing, monitoring, and co-ordinating work requests through the paraplanning hub process to meet strict service standards.

•  

  Risk & Review Reporting: Plan for risk cover and benefits via quote requests, and prepare regular client review reports in collaboration with the Sales Support team.

•  

  Database Management: Maintain database integrity by capturing financial needs analysis data and updating the system with accepted financial plans.

•  

  Client & Advisor Support: Accompany Wealth Managers/Advisors to initial and presentation client meetings when required, building strong internal rapport.

•  

  Continuous Improvement: Participate in projects to review ROA templates, standard paragraphs, and paraplanning policies to enhance client service delivery.

Minimum Requirements & Skills

•  

  Education: Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning is a minimum requirement.

•  

  Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of compliance requirements (FAIS/FICA); having passed the Regulatory Examination (RE5) is highly preferable.

•  

  Technical Knowledge: A broad and deep understanding of financial products across multiple providers and benefit types.

•  

  Systems Experience: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Experience with financial planning modelling software like Elite and Dynamics is advantageous.

•  

  Attributes: Exceptional report writing, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain a high level of integrity.
