Our client is a well-established financial advisory business looking for a professional and mature Paraplanner to join their team in Sandton. The main purpose of this role is to prepare written Records of Advice and perform technical calculations on behalf of Wealth Managers and Advisors for both existing and future clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Advice: Prepare written Records of Advice, technical calculations, and technical advice on behalf of Wealth Managers and Advisors as per company policies.
Analysis & Recommendations: Conduct comprehensive technical analyses required to draft financial plans, including fund comparisons, fees, CGT, penalties, fact sheets, and product benefits. Prepare accurate recommendations and financial plans prior to client planning meetings.
Workflow Coordination: Assist in co-ordinating, prioritising, and monitoring paraplanning work requests through the hub processes and procedures.
Client & Advisor Support: Accompany Wealth Managers and Advisors at initial and presentation client meetings where required. Prepare review reports for clients on agreed frequencies in collaboration with the Sales Support team.
Risk Cover Planning: Plan for risk cover and benefits through quote requests received from Wealth Managers and Advisors.
Database & Data Integrity: Capture client financial information from financial needs analyses, update the database with accepted plans, and ensure precise implementation according to the plan.
Information Gathering: Identify and collect outstanding information required for the accurate completion of work requests from the relevant parties.
Policy & Project Participation: Support the development of paraplanning policies and participate in assigned projects, such as reviewing Record of Advice templates and writing procedures.
Practice Standards: Support practice management standards through annual reviews, segmentation, and differentiated servicing of clients.
Requirements:
Education: Minimum requirement of a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.
Technical Knowledge: Broad range and depth of technical knowledge across multiple product providers and benefit types.
Compliance Expertise: Strong knowledge of compliance requirements for FAIS and FICA, with a thorough understanding of compliance issues associated with providing financial advice. Having passed the Regulatory Examination (RE5) is highly preferred.
Software Skills: Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel computer skills, with advanced skills preferred. Experience using financial planning modelling software such as Elite and Dynamics is highly advantageous.
Communication Skills: Strong written, interpersonal, and report writing skills, with the ability to develop rapport and empathy with Wealth Managers and Advisors.
Work Ethic & Attributes: Highly energetic, self-starting, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must demonstrate high ethical standards, integrity, trustworthiness, and a strong service ethic.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver to tight deadlines under pressure.
