SUMMARY:

PAYROLL CLERK

Location: Paarl, Western Cape

Employment Type: Permanent

A well-established business in Paarl is looking for a Payroll Clerk to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who has a good understanding of payroll administration and basic SARS requirements.

The role would suit someone with previous payroll experience, although a junior candidate with the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn will also be considered.

POSITION INFO:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Processing monthly payroll accurately and timeously
Maintaining accurate employee payroll records
Capturing and processing employee changes, including new appointments, terminations and amendments
Assisting with PAYE, UIF and other payroll-related statutory submissions
Assisting with SARS-related payroll requirements
Preparing payroll reports and supporting reconciliations
Responding to employee payroll queries
Ensuring payroll information is kept accurate and confidential
Providing general administrative support within the payroll function

REQUIREMENTS:

Previous payroll experience will be advantageous
Basic knowledge of SARS, PAYE and UIF
Good computer literacy
Experience with payroll software will be advantageous
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Good organisational and administrative skills
Ability to work with confidential information
A reliable and responsible approach to work
Candidates residing in Paarl or the surrounding area will be preferred
Own reliable transport is preferred

A relevant payroll, accounting or bookkeeping qualification will be advantageous, but is not essential for a junior candidate with the appropriate aptitude and willingness to learn.

REMUNERATION:

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
