Our client in Cape Town, a well-established company in the finance sector, is looking for a Bookkeeper / Finance Administrator to play a key support role within their accounting team. You'll be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll administration, reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring deadlines are met with precision.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS

Gr 12 or equivalent qualification
3-4 years’ bookkeeping or payroll experience
Strong knowledge of VAT and SARS processes
Bookkeeping or related qualification advantageous
Professional communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
Experience with Xero, Sage, Pastel or similar accounting software
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently

DUTIES

Assisting with SARS queries and submissions
Preparing and submitting VAT, PAYE, UIF, and EMP201/EMP501 returns
Managing debtors, creditors, cashbooks, journals, and bank reconciliations
Processing bookkeeping transactions for a portfolio of clients
Preparing and maintaining accurate records up to Trial Balance
Processing monthly payroll, including salaries, wages, leave, and statutory deductions
Ensuring client records are complete, accurate, and compliant with deadlines
Preparing supporting schedules for monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements
Communicating professionally with clients to obtain information and provide feedback on outstanding matters

Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
