NCA Compliance Administrator

Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape

Contract Type: Permanent

Level: Junior Professional

Appointment Date: October 2022 or as soon as available

Remuneration: R 12 000 – R 14 000 CTC

Role Description

The successful applicant will work with experienced NCA Compliance Officers and will assist with the delivery of services to clients and our target market. The role is an ideal position for an individual, who has some experience in the consumer credit industry, who wants to pursue a career in compliance.

 

The role will provide on-the-job training and mentorship in the provision of outsourced compliance and risk management services to clients in the credit and financial services industry. The applicant will be required to assist the NCA team and its compliance officers in executing their statutory duties. Duties will include monitoring, research, and administrative support functions to mitigate the risk of non-compliance with legislation and regulations.

 

Job Specification

  • Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining risk and compliance documents, policies, and procedures;
  • Assist with the establishment and maintenance of procedures on the identification, reporting, and resolution of compliance and regulatory issues;
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with applicable legislation, industry developments, and internal procedures;
  • General client correspondence, notifications, legislative references, and queries;
  • Facilitate registrations with the National Credit Regulator, including analysing, submitting, and monitoring new applications;
  • Liaise with clients and industry role players;
  • Research as directed by the appointed Supervisor; and
  • Assist with recordkeeping and other administrative functions within the department.

 

Skills and Attributes

Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, effective and disciplined self-management, function under pressure, business writing and reporting,  high ethical standards, a desire to learn, detail orientated, proactive, time management, and adherence to deadlines and service-level agreements.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience working with the National Credit Act (NCA), National Credit Regulator (NCR), or credit industry.
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years working experience, preferably in a legal, compliance, or financial environment
  • Relevant Diploma/Certificate/Degree in commerce or law
  • Digital and Computer literacy: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Fully bi-lingual in English and another language
  • Must have a positive outlook, be presentable, and self-motivated
  • Preference will be given to AA / EE applicants
  • Preferred: Completed LLB / 4 Year Law / Commerce degree or equivalent
